Recently, a colleague and I were having a philosophical debate regarding developer burnout. He pointed me towards an article (What causes developer burnout) that he had found that same morning. This got me to thinking about my own experiences and times of professional frustration.
What follows are a few tips that may help fight developer burnout.
Avoid blame. Don't get stuck finger pointing and searching for a source of your frustration. The reality is that it doesn't matter. Instead, focus on finding solutions.
Work with those whom you feel frustration towards. It's been my experience that the team is more productive when everyone works together instead of against one another. Befriend those that frustrate you and ask how you might help them. This act will go a long way. In return they may even remove some of the unnecesary obstacles in your way.
